Plainly: Sunserif is a small design studio. We collect the little we need to reply to you, build and run your site, and take payment — and nothing for advertising. This page says exactly what, and what happens to it.
Visiting this site
We count visits and see which pages are read with analytics that are cookie-free and run on our own server. It does not follow you across other sites and does not build an advertising profile. Our hosting and content-delivery providers keep ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site up.
The Sunserif Brief
When you enter your email to get the Brief, we add you to our own mailing list on double opt-in: we send one email asking you to confirm, and nothing else is sent unless you click that link. If you don't confirm, the address is never mailed and is removed.
- The list lives on our own mail tool (self-hosted). We do not rent, sell or share it, and we do not load it into any third-party advertising or identity graph.
- Every Brief has a one-click unsubscribe. Use it any time and the address is dropped.
- If an audit link brought you here, we may store which link it was (a "UTM" tag) so we know which work is worth doing more of. That tag is attached to your record, never sold.
Starting a build
The onboarding form asks for your name, business, email, the plan you picked, and what you want the site to do. It's stored in our own form service and emailed to us, and we use it only to reply, run the kickoff and scope the work. We don't add you to any list from it.
Paying
Payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email, card and billing details under its own privacy policy. What we see is your name, email, the last four digits of the card, and the status of your subscription — never the full card number.
Your client room
Subscribers sign in with a six-digit code we email you; there are no passwords to store. A session cookie keeps you signed in after you enter it — that's the one cookie this site sets, and only for you. Edit requests, files and messages you send through the room are kept so we can do the work and show you its history.
If you write to hello@sunserif.design, we keep the thread, on Google Workspace, for as long as we're working together and for a reasonable time after.
Website audits
We publish audits of local business websites. They use only what any visitor can see: the business name, its public web address, and contact details the business itself publishes. If we write to a business about its audit, it is one note, sent to a published business address, with a real reply address and an easy way to say no. If you're the business and want your audit corrected or removed, write to us and we will.
Who else sees it
Only the services that do the work: Stripe (payment), Google Workspace (email), our hosting and content-delivery providers (serving the site), and the email service that sends your sign-in codes and confirmations. It is processed primarily in the United States, under each provider's own privacy policy. We never sell personal information, and no advertising network gets any of it.
How long we keep it
- Brief subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Onboarding forms and email threads: while we're in touch, and up to two years after.
- Subscriber records and payment history: for the subscription, then as long as tax law requires (currently seven years).
- Audits: until the business asks us to take one down.
Your choices
Write to hello@sunserif.design to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We'll do it. There's very little to begin with. This site isn't aimed at anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
When this page changes we update the date at the top. If we ever add a tool that uses cookies to measure the site, this page will say so before it does.
